Video Protection is a feature in Zeal that automatically converts video content found in marketplace listings into image screenshots during ingestion. This eliminates the need for analysts to manually play every video to detect infringements — making moderation faster and more effective.
Live on: Shopee (all regions), Amazon (all regions)
In progress / planned: Instagram, TikTok, Etsy, and other platforms
When a listing contains a video, the system automatically processes it during scraping:
Frames are extracted from the video every 2 seconds
Each new frame is compared with the previously accepted screenshot using image similarity analysis
Frames that are visually similar to the previous one are skipped (to avoid duplicates)
Only unique, representative frames are saved
The process stops when up to 5 screenshots are collected or the video ends
These screenshots are then added as regular product images in the post on Zeal. Note: currently, the UI does not visually distinguish video-extracted screenshots from standard product images.
Infringers often hide branded or counterfeit goods inside video content while keeping static listing images generic — avoiding automated detection.
A Shopee seller lists a "Premium Leather Bag." The 5 static images provided are unbranded. However, the 10-second video shows the seller rotating the bag to reveal a luxury logo on the base.
Without video processing, this infringement would go undetected unless an analyst manually watched the video. With Video Protection, the system automatically extracts a screenshot of that specific frame.

Applies to | All organisations (enabled at the domain/website level) |
Posts containing video content are tagged with the video tag. To find them:
Go to the Post View
Add the filter tag: video
This will surface all listings where video content has been crawled and screenshots extracted
Video usually content is considered high priority — ensure these are reviewed and moderated daily.
When reviewing a post tagged with video, you may see multiple screenshots extracted from the video alongside regular product images
Label images accordingly — flag infringing images as you normally would
Moderating video-extracted screenshots as infringing may help surface other posts containing the same screenshots, similar to how the image similarity feature works for static images (confirmation pending)
