Categories are a way to group similar products together so they can be managed, displayed, and reported on more effectively. In Zeal, categories act as the backbone of your product structure, helping both users and internal teams understand what a product is, where it belongs, and how it should be handled.
At a high level, product categories are used to:
Organize products logically
Grouping products into categories such as Apparel, Electronics, or Health & Wellness makes large catalogs easier to manage.
Improve navigation and discoverability
Categories help users quickly find relevant products and understand how items are related.
Support reporting and analytics
Categories allow Zeal to aggregate data, track performance, and generate insights at a category level rather than only per product.
Apply auto-moderation rules at scale
Pricing rules can be applied to entire categories instead of individual products.
