User Roles & Permissions

Read-Only (Internal / Client)

This role provides view-only access to the platform. Users can browse listings and content but cannot perform any actions that change or affect data.

Restrictions:

• Cannot upload images, accounts, or listings

• Cannot moderate images, posts, accounts, or websites

• Cannot update product categories

• Cannot tag listings

Manager (Brand Partner / Success Lead / Senior Brand Partner)

The Manager role is assigned to the Brand Partner, who acts as the primary Customer Success contact for the organization. Managers have all QA permissions plus additional control over organizational settings and user management.

Permissions:

• All QA permissions

• All Enforcer permissions

• Mark items for Enforcement

• Check moderated post, account, and website labels

• Unvalidate validated post, account, and website labels

• Update all organization settings

• Manage users (invite, edit, and remove)

• Upload images, accounts, and listings

• Update product category of Checked posts

• Update auto-moderation rules

Moderator

Moderators use the Zeal 2.0 platform to identify potentially infringing content and apply moderation actions in line with the Brand Moderation Manual.

Permissions:

• View and moderate images, posts, accounts, and websites

• View settings

• View the analytics dashboard

• Upload images, accounts, and listings

• Update product category of Checked posts

QA

QAs review posts that have already been moderated and update their status for validation. Most posts proceed to takedown once QA-checked, unless further client validation is required.

Permissions:

• All Moderator permissions

• Check moderated post, account, and website labels

• View organization settings

• Update crawling configuration

• Update product category of Validated posts

• Unvalidate labels

Restrictions:

• Cannot validate labels

• Cannot manage users

Validator (Client/External Users)

The Validator role is assigned to the organization administrator on the client side, with full access to the Zeal 2.0 platform and control over organizational settings.

Permissions:

• Invite, remove, and edit user details for all users in the organization

• Validate posts and accounts for enforcement/takedown

• Configure organization settings, including:

  • Default filter settings

  • KPIs

  • Domains, keywords, and hashtags for crawling

Enforcer

Enforcers use the Zeal 2.0 platform to carry out takedowns for posts and accounts that have already been validated.

Permissions:

• Filter, tag, and comment on listings

• View posts

• Update the IP Portfolio

• Update organization settings (for uploading LOA/PoA documents)

Restrictions:

• Cannot invite new users or edit user permissions

• Cannot moderate posts, accounts, or websites

Investigator

Investigators use the Zeal 2.0 platform to identify and research high-value targets, such as vendors with multiple accounts or large volumes of counterfeit listings.

Permissions:

• Add infringing accounts into the platform

• Create and modify clusters/seller networks

Admin (Internal)

Admins are Zeal 2.0 technical support or application administrators with the highest level of access. They can update restricted settings, manage cross-organizational features, and support configuration beyond a single organization.

Permissions:

• All Validator permissions

• Manage organizations

• Create new organizations

• Manage clusters
